The Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism at Universidad Europea de Madrid offers you a practical and specialized education for the real world; Journalism that is modern, up-to-date, creative and ambitious, and that responds to the demands of contemporary communication media, without disregarding the much needed ethical and humanistic training. In our institution you will receive comprehensive training that will enable you to become a versatile professional with a global perception of events and with international preparation that will make you stand out in any company or communication media.
You will develop your creative abilities with the help of Carmen Posadas’ Creative Writing Chair, a cross-disciplinary School Chair in which you will discover creativity and a passion for writing literature, journalism and scripts.-
The Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism is based on the practical development of the fundamental principles of the European Higher Education Area and it exemplifies Universidad de Madrid’s educational methodology from its beginnings, through:
- The development of innovative academic methodologies: practical experience, real case studies, group projects, an online campus, etc.
- Comprehensive training contrasted with contents, competences, and abilities that will be crucial for your career
- A faculty of experts in coaching and mentoring and a Personalized Academic Advising Plan.
In addition, our School has two cross-disciplinary Chairs that add a great deal of value to the Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism:
- Carmen Posadas’ Creative Writing Chair, a cross-disciplinary workshop in the School of Arts and Communication where our graduates develop a range of skills and abilities in word-based creativity. It is a cross-disciplinary Chair of the School of Arts and Communication that allows our graduates to develop a series of creative skills and competences that begin with the written word.
- Luis Bassat’s Creativity Workshop, which allows our graduates to develop all their creative potential from the perspective of image.
All of which is provided with the most up-to-date technology, a key element in this profession.
School of Arts and Communication has a communication platform entitled UEMCOM, a digital newspaper and radio that is aimed at and run by our students and broadcasted to the general public.

As a student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism at Universidad Europea de Madrid, you will have the possibility of spending a semester or academic year abroad at a European university, thanks to the Erasmus collaboration agreements that the School of Arts and Communication has signed with several institutions.
On the other hand, you have the possibility of completing the Degree abroad, by spending your seventh semester at the prestigious New York Film Academy, affiliated with NBC News, without having to pay extra tuition.
As our university belongs to the Laureate International Universities Network, new opportunities all over the world will open up for you to engage with other cultures.
Plus, throughout your Degree Program you will take some of your courses in English and will be able to access our University’s wide offer of complementary training, which includes improving your skills in at least two additional languages apart from Spanish and English

The Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism maintains an ongoing partnership with companies, institutions, and professionals that are active in the sector. These partnerships provide highly valuable experience in designing the Degree Program’s updated curriculums. Some of these include: Nieves Herrero (journalist), Francisco Javier Díez (Telemadrid TV channel journalist), Itziar Bernaola (TVE Spanish state TV channel journalist), José Mª Palomares (Marketing and Communications senior manager in Telefónica) Juan José Ceballos (Telemadrid Radio producer), among others.
From day one you will be able to have hands-on, practical experience at the University’s fully equipped sets. Plus you will be able to participate in our UEMCOM platform (digital newspaper and radio: www.uemcom.es) and use all of the professional material available in our laboratories to carry out your projects.
