The ultimate aim of the new Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing curriculum at UEM is to develop reflexive and autonomous professionals, which translates into maximizing the meta-cognitive skills of our student Nursing technicians, allowing them to question, analyze, learn, assess and modify their own nursing practice from the point of view of the profession, taking into account ethical and social factors.
Within this context, the fundamental objectives of the GP are as follows:
- To use initiative and methodology with professional and creative criteria to integrate and apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their learning process and clinical internship.
- To increase the knowledge received and know how to apply it in their professional career.
- To provide effective and efficient solutions to problems that arise during the project, using the knowledge, skills/competences and aptitudes acquired throughout the program.
In order to achieve the GP objectives, the 4th year students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing must demonstrate that they possess complex abilities such as analysis and synthesis, organization and planning of care, services, resources… As such, this involves being able to demonstrate the skills required to look for and manage information, both on their own and as part of a team, with a critical attitude, taking initiative and making decisions on behalf of the client, with respect for people and taking into account their safety as well as current legislation.
Under these premises, students must choose and apply the methods/procedures and care required to identify and offer care regarding the most important health care issues of a specific group of people, with the aim of solving their problems and assessing effect/impact.
Personal UEM is a new educational concept at Universidad Europea de Madrid especially designed for professionals who need to balance working hours and studies, thanks to the possibility of being able to take courses online.
