The Bachelor’s Degree + Master’s Degree in Architecture will qualify you to practice the regulated profession of Architect, under the Agreement of the Council of Ministers dated July 23, 2010. Combined with the Bachelor’s Degree in Design, it will enable you to work in any of the five profiles in which architects can work: construction, urban planning, real estate, drawing, and design; as well as being a member of the creative world at the highest level.

This concurrent degree responds to the demands of society and the job market by introducing principles and knowledge related to sustainability and the environment, accessibility and internationality, communicative skills (in Spanish and English), business management, and the efficient use of new technologies throughout the entire degree program.

Among the many innovative aspects of this concurrent Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Architecture and Design are the Integration Workshops, offered every semester, in which projects are assigned to put into practice what you have learned in other subjects. These workshops are directed by a professional guest and faculty member in conjunction, and are designed to give our students both an academic and professional perspective.

International Perspective

As a member of the Laureate network, Universidad Europea de Madrid allows you to study a year or semester abroad to complete your education and enrich your international scope at institutions of global prestige, such as the NewSchool of Architecture and Design in San Diego, with which the School of Architecture has a specific collaboration agreement.

Other benefits you will enjoy at our university include courses taught in English throughout the degree program, participation in workshops coordinated by architects and designers of international prestige, and visits to the most important and influential design trade fairs.

The International Area within the School of Architecture has been created for the academic year 2010/11. It offers students an excellent information service and provides them with the best advantages and conditions for international exchanges with outstanding Architecture and Design schools around the world.

Students will also be able to participate in study trips abroad during their time at university (Tokyo, Berlin, Sao Paolo, Shanghai, New York, etc.). These are essential for obtaining a global awareness of contemporary trends.

Currently, similar agreements are being introduced with outstanding European design universities and schools, such as “Politecnico di Milano” and the most prestigious institutions in the Netherlands.

Students of the School of Architecture at Universidad Europea de Madrid participate directly in the design, layout, and management of exhibitions on key designers of the 20th century. Two examples of the talent of our students are the exhibitions POUL KJAERHOLM ESENCIAL (COAM 2008 Prize awarded by the Madrid Association of Architects (April-May 2010) and the recent SIENTATE/SIENTE CON ARNE JACOBSEN (April-May 2010).
