21st Century Academic Quality
Among the many innovative aspects of the Bachelor’s Degree in Design, the semester-long Integration Workshops are of particular importance. In these workshops, students carry out projects that put into practice the knowledge gained in other subjects. These workshops are co-directed by a professional and a professor, who are responsible for bringing a dual perspective, both academic and professional, to our students.

Thanks to our collaboration with the ONCE Foundation (Spanish National Organization for the Blind), Universidad Europea de Madrid is also a pioneer in implementing “Design for All” in curricular programs, thereby providing a cross-disciplinary approach throughout the entire degree program, in line with our commitment to social responsibility which sets our institution apart from the rest.

The faculty at the School of Architecture is comprised of two very different but complementary professor profiles:
- Actively-working renowned professionals with prize-winning works: these are part-time faculty at the School who share their knowledge and vision of the professional world. They are references in today’s architecture, some of which include: Fuensanta Nieto, Alberto Martínez Castillo, Beatriz Matos, Efrén García Grinda, Cristina Díaz Moreno, Fernando Márquez, Uriel Fogué, Carlos Arroyo, Nerea Calvillo, Javier Sanjuán, Angel Acebo, Victoria Alonso, José Luis Esteban Penelas, and Andrés Jaque.
- Architecture Professors: these are architects with a clear teaching vocation, who are dedicated to educating students on a full-time basis and devote their free time to research, consulting activities or collaborating on projects.
An International Perspective

As a member of the Laureate Network, Universidad Europea de Madrid believes in offering you a holistic international education and therefore offers you the opportunity of studying a semester or single course at prestigious institutions around the world, such as the NewSchool of Architecture and Design in San Diego, with whom the School of Architecture has a specific collaboration agreement. UEM’s membership to the Laureate Network will also allow you to benefit from overseas visits (Tokyo, Berlin, Shanghai and New York) that are fundamental to acquire a global understanding of contemporary trends, particularly necessary in a degree such as Architecture. At the moment, similar agreements are being set up with European universities and design schools of reference, such as the Politecnico di Milano and the most reputable higher learning institutions in the Netherlands.
