Due to the importance Universidad Europea de Madrid places on internationality and opening up to other cultures, we encourage a multi-lingual environment on our campuses through the offer of Spanish and foreign languages as well as cultural activities. Small group classes and complementary activities improve the students’ fluency in the language, and the use of the latest technology provides them with optimal conditions for their professional training.
Spanish
Classroom presence is combined with a multi-media program in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes, Testing center for the DELE Official Spanish Diploma (through the Instituto Cervantes), Spanish Business Course (through the Madrid Chamber of Commerce) and Course in Hispanic Culture.
Attendance: Free of charge and optional
Communicate in Spanish: This Spanish language course focuses on oral communication. It uses a functional and communicative approach to teach basic aspects of Spanish grammar and the vocabulary needed for the most common communicative situations. Upon finishing, students will have achieved a basic repertoire of words and simple sentences related to their personal details and specific everyday situations.
Who is the course for? This course is intended for international students at the Universidad Europea de Madrid with very little or no previous knowledge of the Spanish language.

When does it begin? The Spanish course for beginners takes place each semester, one week previous to the beginning of the classes.

English at the UEM Lab
The Universidad Europea de Madrid Language Lab combines classroom presence with a multi-media program, which can be accessed on-line at any time. Their methodologies are fun and up-to-date, and allow students to advance through 17 levels at their own rhythm. The ESP (English for Specific Purposes) classes offered allow students to learn how to communicate in specific areas of study. Testing center for TOEFL, iBTOEFL (computer-based) and the GRE (Graduate Record Exam).
Other languages
French, German, Italian, Chinese, and Arabic. Possibility of doing the exam for the ÖSD (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom) German diploma, and of preparing for the official French exams DELF.

International students will have the opportunity to be in contact with students from Universidad Europea de Madrid and exchange students to learn and practice different languages through cultural activities and interpersonal relationships (tourist visits, cafés, cinema, concerts, museums, and sports).
