International Relations
The International Relations Office is responsible for coordinating and promoting relationships between Universidad Europea de Madrid and numerous university institutions from all over the world, such as official organisms that encourage inter-university cooperation on a global scale.
At the office of International Relations our students receive information and orientation about studies and internships abroad. The office also takes care of arranging interchanges for students and teachers to other universities as well as promoting and managing agreements and collaborations with higher-learning institutions.
International students, who wish to study at Universidad Europea de Madrid but have little or no knowledge of Spanish, will be able to enroll in Spanish courses free of charge before the semester begins. In addition, all international students will have a one week orientation session where student will learn about the peculiarities of living in Spain and meet with their academic advisors to find out about the services available to them.
Enrolment Process
Visas
- Students from member states of the European Union: do not need a visa. They will be required to show their national ID card or passport.
- Students from outside the European Union: students who wish to enroll in a program that lasts more than 90 days must request a Type-D Student Visa at the Spanish Embassy or Consular Offices in their country of origin or legal residence. We recommend filling out the application form at least two months prior to the beginning of the study period.
Medical Insurance and Assistance
- Students of the European Union, the European Economic Space (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and Switzerland: must have a European Health Insurance Card. In the case of an emergency, they can obtain a provisional European Health Insurance Card Certificate of Substitution as long as it covers the full period of studies. These documents can be requested in the student’s country of origin with enough time in advance.
- Students from countries outside the European Union: must take out a health insurance policy in their country of origin, or with a Spanish company upon arrival. If the policy is taken out in the student’s home country, it must be translated and must state that it covers international medical assistance in the case of an accident or illness.
Job Orientation
The Job Placement Office has the objective of bringing students into contact with the professional world and helping them find their first job. In addition, it orients companies and outside institutions on capturing young university students. Responsibilities include:
- Managing: job internships so that students fulfill their academic requirements according to the established norms and regulations.
- Helping: students find their first job.
- Organizing: conferences and company presentations.
Students will receive complementary instruction on how to write a CV and cover letter, and learn the mechanics of the personnel selection process as well as job search techniques. Throughout the course students will participate in job forums, which will allow them to make contacts with the most important multi-national companies. The cooperation agreements signed with over 2,100 companies make it easier for students to be able to do internships and get their first job.
Multi-cultural Offer
Weekly activities include visits from important figures in diverse areas, encouraging debate in a university environment. Writers, actors, film directors and athletes, among others, tell us about their work and experiences, leading interesting discussions geared towards providing students with a comprehensive education. There are also conferences and short courses offered by public figures of renowned prestige, who actively collaborate in the dissemination of knowledge and topics of general social interest.
Students can participate in any of the existing university clubs (such as the Fine Arts Club, Chess Club, Dance Club, Photography Club, Theater Club, Literature Club, Monologue Club, Film Club, University Chorus, Music Club, Science Club and Motor Club) depending on their interests. Participation in each club is active and practical, and promotes interrelationships between students.
Social Responsibility
