The Admission Process for the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine 2010 is open: 1st year students

2. APPOINTMENT FOR ADMISSIONS TESTS
Once all the documentation has been received, a person responsible for Admissions to the Medicine Program at Universidad Europea de Madrid will contact you in order to confirm all documents have been received and to arrange an appointment to carry out the admissions tests.
Only those candidates who have submitted the full documentation (see above) will be given an appointment for the tests.

- ADMISSIONS TESTS.
Once the corresponding documentation has been presented, an appointment will be made for the candidate to start the admission process into the Medicine Program, which consists of two phases:
FIRST PHASE
The first phase consists of the following tests:

The candidate must pass this test by obtaining a level equivalent to B1* in a test designed by the University itself, which will assess in the candidates level in listening, reading, grammar and vocabulary.
The test consists of a multiple choice test with a total of 80 questions (a,b,c,d):
- Oral comprehension test: 20 questions
- Grammar test: 30 questions
- Vocabulary test: 20 questions
- Reading comprehension test: 10 questions
The test lasts 60 minutes.
*There is a possibility that this test does not have to be taken if a minimum level of knowledge of English can be accredited, equivalent to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) B1. This minimum level can be accredited in three possible ways:
By submitting the following certificates:
- CAMBRIDGE FIRST CERTIFICATE
- TOEFL iBT (internet-based) Minimum classification of 80 points
- IELTS band 5.0.
* No certificate more than two years old will be accepted.
2. Aptitude, Attitude and Skills Test, a skills test that assesses the elements related to the academic and professional success of each student and to identify their specific training needs. (The results obtained on this test will only be taken into account for candidates who have passed the First Phase).

A Letter of motivation consisting of a questionnaire with 10 questions whose aim is to discover the motivation and commitment of the candidate to study the Program for a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine. (The results obtained from this questionnaire will only be taken into account for candidates who have passed the First Phase).
CHECK THE DATES OF THE FIRST PHASE
Once the First Phase has been carried out, in order to be assessed students must submit a complete transcript. The admission of the candidate will depend on the content of this transcript:

Points criteria for admissions tests in order to pass to the second phase according to admissions requirements:
- High School Diploma Admission Requirement
- High School Transcript: 60%(Having chosen the bio-health option during the High School Diploma studies will be positively assessed)
- University Entrance Exam Scores: 20% (This score refers to that obtained on the University Entrance Exams, not the final grade average of the High School Diploma)
- English Test: 20%
- Bachelor’ Degrees from other Universities Admission Requirement
- High School Transcript: 60%(Having chosen the bio-health option during the High School Diploma studies will be positively assessed)
- University Entrance Exam Scores: 20% (This score refers to that obtained on the University Entrance Exams, not the final grade average of the High School Diploma)
- English Test: 20%
*Students holding Bachelor’s Degrees from another University will not be admitted as Graduates nor will the academic results obtained from their Degree Program be assessed, even in the case that the Degree Program be in the Health Sciences Branch.
- Places reserved for UEM students (10%)
Students from Universidad Europea de Madrid (transcript transfer)
- High School Transcript: 20%
- University Entrance Exam Scores: 20%
- UEM Transcript : 40%
- English Test: 20%
University graduates from Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM Degree Holders)
- Transcript: 80%
- English Test: 20%
The School will determine the average grade of the students, establishing a minimum cut off grade for admission into the Second Phase.

*Students can check their results of the First Phase at:by entering their DNI [National Identification Number] on July 6th. Via this page you will be advised if you have passed to the Second Phase: APTO [ACCEPTED], or if you have not passed to the Second Phase: NO APTO [NOT ACCEPTED]. In the latter case, there will be a waiting list in case there are cancellations from the APTO category during the Second Phase.
Once the results of the First Phase have been published, the persons in charge of Medicine Admissions will contact those candidates who have passed the First Phase by telephone to arrange an appointment, in order to carry out a personal interview with a member of the Selection Committee set up by the School. Appointments will be made for a specific date and time.
SECOND PHASE
- Personal Structured Interview with a member of the Selection Committee.

- Results of the Aptitude, Attitude and Skills Test
- Assessment of the Motivation Letter
- Assessment of the Personal Interview

by entering their DNI [National Identification Number] on July 20th. Via this page, you will be advised if you have been selected to study the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine: APTO [ACCEPTED], or if you have not passed the Second Phase, the following will be shown: NO APTO [NOT ACCEPTED]. In the latter case, there will be a waiting list in case there are cancellations from the APTO category of those chosen to study the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine.

5. PLACE RESERVATION AND TUITION FEES
In order to be able to reserve a place, the APTO candidates who are going to study the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine have a period of 10 working days starting the day following the date of publication of the final results on our website in order to confirm their enrolment through: payment of the reservation fee, completion and delivery of the enrolment envelope.
If, at the end of this period, the candidate has not completed the above confirmation of enrolment, their place will be automatically passed to one of the candidates on the waiting list in the strict order established by the School.

CALENDAR FOR THE ADMISSION PROCESS FOR THE BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN MEDICINE 2010
- Opening of the application submission period: March 23, 2010.
- First Phase of the Admissions Process to the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine: from April 13 to June 24, 2010.
- Submission of updated documentation: Complete Upper Division High School transcript, University Entrance Exam Scores or the academic certificate (if you are being admitted as a Degree Holder): from June 25 to July 1, 2010.
- Publication of the First Phase results: as of July 6, 2010 at 16:00
- Second Phase personal interviews carried out: from July 8 to 17, 2010.
- Publication of the final results of the admission process for the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine: as of July 20, 2010 at 16:00
- Payment of the reservation fee and presentation of the enrolment envelope: August 3, 2010.
What documentation do you have to send to Universidad Europea de Madrid?
For the amount of 125 €
Under no circumstances will this amount be reimbursed, whether the student is present at the tests or not.
The candidate may make payment by bank transfer, clearly indicating on the pay slip their full name and DNI [National Identification Number], so that afterwards we can identify the application.
