What is it?

Pilates is a training method designed to strengthen and stretch the body in a balanced way. By doing regular Pilates training you will obtain greater awareness of your body, uniting body control with that of the mind.

What are its benefits?

The practice of the Pilates method brings numerous benefits, among which are the following:

  • Increase in pulmonary capacity and circulation
  • Improvement in strength and flexibility
  • Reduction of back pain
  • Prevention of injuries
  • Helps bone density and promotes healthy joints

How do I do it?

At Universidad Europea de Madrid you can do Pilates in different ways:

  • Personal Pilates Training: These are individual sessions of Pilates Matwork using material and machines.
  • Pilates initiation course * (1-2 people). The objective of this course is to create the working bases in order to develop the method.  It forms part of the other classes that are already going on.
  • Pilates Matwork Course (2-10 people). Pilates floor sessions with specific material (magic circle, theraband, fitball, bosu ball…) for those who wish to continue their Pilates training and improve their personal technique.*
  • Pilates Reformer Course (2-4 people). These are sessions dedicated to practicing Pilates using the reformer machine. Exercises for different levels of difficulty are carried out.*

*The initiation course is mandatory to ensure that groups are homogenous and achieve their objectives.
