- He is one of the most important figures in the history of Spanish and international advertising. He has over 400 national and international advertising awards and has been voted the best advertiser of the 20th century several times.

Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Sciences, she has more than 25 years’ experience in the Information Technologies sector. Her professional career has developed thanks to Microsoft where she rose to the position of President and CEO of the Spanish subsidiary, until 2008 when she was appointed Vice-President of the Consumer & Online Division of Microsoft Western Europe.

- In 1996 she published “Cinco Moscas Azules” [The Last Resort] and in 1997 published “Nada es lo que parece” [Nothing is what it seems], winning recognition among both readers and critics.
- She has written dozens of children’s books as well as scripts for television and film.
- In 1998 she won the Planeta Prize for “Pequeñas infamias” [Little Indiscretions] and later wrote equally successful and acclaimed works such as “La Bella Otero”, “A la Sombra de Lilith” and “Juego de Niños” [Child’s Play].

Mr. Juan Antonio Vázquez

He is a respected economist who combines his dedication to academics with the study and participation in areas concerning the regional economy, sectors undergoing restructuring and reindustrialization policies. He is also founder and editor of various economic magazines.
In the business world he has been chairman of the collective bargaining process of Ensidesa and Member of the Advisory Councils of various foundations and trusts (National Quality Assessment Agency, the Hidrocantábrico Foundation, the Telefónica Scientific Advisory Council, the Banco Herrero Foundation, etc.).
Mr. Manuel Campo Vidal
President of the Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias de la Televisión [Academy of Television Arts and Sciences] in Spain and professor at the Instituto de Comunicación Empresarial [Institute for Business Communication].
- He holds a PhD Degree in Sociology (Applied Economics) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is a Graduate of Journalism from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and a Senior Industrial Electronics Engineer from the Politécnica de Cataluña.

- Moderator in 1993 of the first televised electoral debate between José María Aznar and Felipe González.
- He presented daily news programmes on TVE 1 from 1983 to 1986 and subsequently the “Punto y Aparte” programme.
Mr. Pedro L. Alonso
Director of the Barcelona Centre for International Health Research (CRESIB), Chief of Tropical Medicine and International Health at “Hospital Clínic de Barcelona”, and Professor at “Universidat de Barcelona”.
- In addition, in his current role as Director of CISM (a Mozambiquan research centre that was set up in 1996 as a result of cooperation between the governments of Spain and Mozambique, managed by the Manhiça Foundation) he is working towards finding solutions to the greatest health issues affecting underdeveloped countries, particularly Sub-Saharan Africa.
- He received his degree in Medicine at “Universidad Autónoma de Madrid” and underwent Graduate Studies in Epidemiology and Public Health in London. He is an expert in Public Health and a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery.
- After working for Great Britain’s Medical Research Council in Gambia (Western Africa) for 5 years, and in Spain’s CSIC (Scientific Research Council) for 1 year, he was hired in 1992 by “Hospital Clínic de Barcelona” where he started the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit.
- In 2008 he was bestowed with the Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation, honoring his successful career in helping those who are most in need.
Mr. Miguel Carmelo
President for the Mediterranean Region of Laureate International Universities and President of Universidad Europea de Madrid
- From 1982 to 2000 he worked at Unilever Spain, where he held a number of management positions in the company: Director of Marketing in 1990, Director of a European division in England responsible for 17 countries in 1993; and President and Managing Director of Unilever Spain in 1997.
- For more than 15 years he has worked in the field of education, collaborating with several universities in Madrid as well as with Kingston University.
- He is an Honorary Professor at Universidad Autónoma, Madrid.
Ms. Águeda Benito
Rector of Universidad Europea de Madrid
- After beginning her career in the field of technical meteorology, in 1996 she decided to turn to teaching. She worked as a Physics teacher in secondary schools while carrying out extensive research, which resulted in her obtaining a PhD in Education Science in 1998. That same year she joined the faculty at Universidad Europea de Madrid, where she has held various positions.
- From 1998 to 2007 she was a Physics Professor, while at the same time holding a number of management positions, such as Director of the Quality Department, Vice Rector of Academic Organization and Extracurricular Activities, Vice Rector of Academic Quality, European Convergence and Student Affairs, and Vice Rector of Academic Innovation.
- In April 2007 she was appointed Dean of the School of Business and Law.
