New UEM online newspaper and radio
The Universidad Europea de Madrid is launching Uemcom, the first stage of a comprehensive communications platform created by students, professors and professionals from the Universidad Europea de Madrid.
Conceived as an educational tool, it is intended to help students learn what it would be like to work in an environment that is as close to reality as possible, whilst endeavouring to apply the principles of the methodology of the new European Higher Education Area.
As stated by the Dean of the School of Communication and Humanities in the welcoming letter, “By using this medium, we are going to be capable of enhancing all that is good within the new generation of global youth and we are going to demonstrate that our students at the UEM are one of the exceptions to the rule in terms of not being motivated or striving to achieve. The students, in fact, are taking full advantage of learning in a modern environment, with truly innovative curricula that are not rooted in the pre-Internet era and in a predominantly practical environment where the work of the professors is fundamental in that they are developers of talent rather than classical erudite scholars”.
Independence and respect for objectivity are the pillars that support both the digital newspaper and the online radio station.
