Grants Program

We provide you with a list of grants; you can choose that which best fits your needs:

Grant of Universidad Europea de Madrid

Designed for new students with a good academic record (an average of good or excellent) and from a low income bracket.

Term of Application: from 30 May to 30 September

You need:

  • The Grant Application Form, completed and signed
  • Certified photocopy of your academic record.
  • Certified photocopy of the individual or joint Income Tax Statement, and the Tax on Assets statement of parents and persons on whom the student is economically dependent, referring to the previous year.

These must be handed in at the Student Attention Area (Reception in Building B).

Once the grant has been awarded, you will have a period of 5 working days from the time the notification is received in order to reserve your place and submit the matriculation envelope.

Official Grant of the Ministry of Education and Science

The Ministry of Education and Science offers the following Grants system:

  • Grant for starting university studies.
  • Term for submitting applications: up to 13 June 2008

  • Mobility Grants for students at universities and in other forms of higher education studying outside their Autonomous Community.
  • Submittal of applications: up to 31 October 2008

  • General Announcement for students of non-university and university post-compulsory education levels studying in their Autonomous Community.

  • Excellence Grants
  • For students who have passed their university entrance examination (Selectividad) and who have obtained an average of 9 points in their last two Baccalaureate years.

    Submittal of applications:

    • For New Students: 1 to 19 August 2008
    • For University Students: 4 to 21 September 2008

    Applications must be handed in at the General Directorate of Universities and Research, preferably in the Registrar of the Education Department.

Basque Government Grants

These grants are intended for all students who are residents for administrative purposes in the Basque Country carrying out university or higher education studies (not including Third Cycle, Universities’ own Certificates and specialisation studies), in centres located in this Autonomous Community or any other part of Spain.

Ico-Universidad Renta Loans

The Renta Universidad Loan is an interest-free loan which you can apply for if you are a graduate and you wish to study an official Master’s course (recognised by the Ministry of Education and Science or by any of the universities from the 46 countries comprising the European Higher Education Area).

The purpose of these loans is to finance the cost of university Master’s courses*, and, if applicable, to provide a monthly allowance to the students who request it.

Specifically:

  • An initial payment will be funded with a limit of 6,000 euros for the final borrower.
  • Furthermore, he or she will be entitled to apply for a monthly allowance of up to 800 euros/month, from the month of matriculation up until the month the course certificate is obtained, with a limit of 21 months.

* University Master’s course studies which have begun before 1 September 2007 cannot be funded.

Term for submitting applications: from 1 September 2007 up to 31 July 2008, or until the completion of the sum to be used for this program.

Crue Santander Grants

2008/2009 convening of 3 “Crue Santander Latin American mobility grants”

The Crue Santander Latin American mobility grants are designed to foster the mobility of UEM students so that they can carry out their studies at Latin American universities.

Agreements between universities of the Laureate International Universities Network guarantee the full academic recognition of students’ stages.

Students will be selected from those carrying out stages during the 2008/2009 academic year at the following Universities:

  • University of Valle de México (México)
  • University of Andrés Bello (Chile)
  • University of Las Américas (Chile)

Submittal of applications: up to 15 December 2008.

Students shall be selected in accordance with the academic records of the applicant students, and after being assessed for resolution by the Grants Committee of the European University of Madrid.
