The curricular program is scheduled to be taught over one academic year, with a duration of 60 ECTS credits distributed among 4 theory-based and hands-on modules, including one practicum or research module and the Master's Thesis. Students may thus choose between either a clinical or research branch:

Module I: Theory-based Seminars I and II (45 ECTS credits)

Monographic seminars on topics related to ocular health, ocular pharmacology, contact lenses and binocular vision.

Module II: Clinical Diagnostic Procedures I and II (6 ECTS credits)
Weekly hands-on sessions at the Villaviciosa de Odón Campus at Universidad Europea de Madrid, during which students perform various advanced clinical and diagnostic techniques for eye and vision examinations.

Module III: Clinical Patient Care I and II (14 ECTS credits)

This module consists of two-week courses taught at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Philadelphia, United States), during which students perform clinical rotations with real patients in a variety of clinical areas.

Module IV: Case Studies and Presentation (5 ECTS credits)

Study, analysis, and writing reports on a variety of clinical cases, following the internationally accepted format of the American Academy of Optometry.

Module V: Research Project (20 ECTS credits)

Development and presentation of a research project in the area of vision science and optometry.

INTERNSHIPS

Internships are carried out at Universidad Europea de Madrid's La Moraleja and Villaviciosa de Odón campuses.
The clinical part of the program is conducted at the facilities of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Philadelphia, United States).
