PhD in Sciences of the Vision
Before dissertations are presented, Universidad Europea de Madrid requires students who have not previously completed equivalent courses to finish 12 ECTS credits of complementary training in scientific research procedures and methodology in the academic setting. These complementary courses are structured into 4 blocks covering the following material:
- Scientific Methodology and Theory of Knowledge (3 ECTS)
- Data Processing (3 ECTS)
- Research-Associated Resources (3 ECTS)
- Practicum (3 ECTS)
Once the student has successfully completed the stage of pre-dissertation coursework, and after having completed the complementary training in academic research, they may present their dissertation project. When approval of the dissertation is granted, the student can begin carrying out their project. The dissertation advisor will propose different activities and deadlines to ensure the success of the dissertation.
The dissertation must be an original research project carried out by the student completing their PhD related to the fields of Optometry, Ophthalmology or Sciences of the Vision.
